Wedding at Caroline Creek

PAUL & KRISTY : CANBERRA

I was priveleged to Marry a wonderful and out-going couple near Canberra recently, on an amazing property.  The mood was set for the most Australian of Aussie weddings, under massive ancient gum trees, then the marquee lit up with fairy lights, the kooaburras and other wild life all around.

Paul & Kristy left me with a very strong feeling of family togetherness. Their families and friends showed such a strength of Love and bonding, as Paul said to me " Wow, How much Love is there, in that tent!"

I went away with some words and a song in my head. Here is the poetic version until we get to record the 'musical' as they say!

Or see me read it live on You Tube:

For Kristy & Paul : Thanks for having us up there! see you soon and Happy Honeymoon!

Wedding at Caroline Creek : The Paul & Kristy Ballad.

Out in the bush, near old Gundaroo Town,
Caroline Creek, with its Gum trees so grand,
100 foot high, so ancient and bold,
If only its stories, could ever be told.

Under the beams of the Cathedral of trees,
The guests in their best clothes, are buzzing like bees,
The blokes in their ties, so handsome and tanned,
With a lady on one side and a stubbie in hand,

And how do the girls look, so happy and bright,
Ready to party away the whole night,
Strewn are the hay bales, a bushmans rough pew,
With hessian upholstery , added touch just for you.

The Celebrant says, look now here comes the bride,
In a beautiful Kombi and a Beetle their ride,
Here in the bush, such a beautiful sight that we see,
We’re here for the marriage of Paul and Kristy!

Celebrant Ned tells stories, of how they did first meet,
And how sister Jenna, was so quick on her feet,
And in that bush setting, they gaze into each others eyes,
And all around me, people laugh and they cry,

Tears rolling down, both the bride and grooms cheeks,
And even the guests, seem to all have sprung leaks!
Gee, Its such a happy occasion, when we get together and weep,
The bride and the grooms love runs deeper than deep

So now I pronounce you, to be Wed by Ned,
And now we can dance ,the whole night instead,
Under the Cathedral of the ghost gums and the stars,
To the harmony of the kookaburras and  the galahs

Those gum trees form a Cathedral like stance,
Under their branches, the wedding guests dance,
Soft lights in the marquee a reflection of the star show above,
The wedding couple and guests, just so full of love

And they Danced in the night, to the stars and the moon,
The kookaburra laughs and the dancing guests swoon,
Out in the dark, under the cathedral of gums,
The guests all party, Paul and Kristy become One.

Just wait for the musical!!
